Completing the resume and cover letter assignment was really helpful for me. As a junior in college, it gave me great exposure to the real world and what job applications are like. I actually applied to a job as part of this assignment, which made the whole thing feel more real and practical. Unfortunately I didn’t get the job but I gained the experience. A problem that I had struggled with in the past was putting myself out there because I felt like I simply didn’t know how to but this assignment truly gave me the headway I needed. This experience helped me understand better how to present my skills and experiences effectively. It also gave me a clearer idea of what employers are looking for and how to tailor my application materials to meet their expectations. Overall, this assignment was a valuable step in preparing for my future career.
